I worked at St. John's in Springfield, MO on second shift. On Wednesday they had a great spaghetti dish but the Saturday's spaghetti - not so much. Many of the quilts shown were made to raise money for Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative. http://www.alzquilts.org/

Painting Gourds
I painted the gourds using a basecoat and then acryllic paint. I finished with a spray varnish. There is Moonflowers and moth, giant pear and penguin. Note: I went and looked at the gourds I painted a year or two ago. I didn't use gesso or any other basecoat and the paint is peeling. One of the gourds we have hanging on our deck moves perpetually even when there is no wind. We can't hear any babies but there must be some in there. The penguin gourd has found a good home with a friend.
